About Our Club

We are Randonnée Aventure, Montreal’s friendly club for adult outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. Founded in 1986 as a not-for-profit, volunteer-run club, we have grown to about 300 members. We offer day trips with Saturday departures for Hiking, Cycling, Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing, as well as occasional weekend trips throughout the year.

Our Mission

To promote and facilitate group participation in outdoor activities in a social setting, by encouraging individuals to work together, on a cooperative basis, to organize such activities at an affordable cost.

Our Day Trips

Our carefully selected destinations to some of the most scenic areas in Quebec, Ontario, New England, and New York State, are within a two-hour drive of Montreal. We travel by luxury coach and occasionally by carpool.

Departure points are conveniently located near Metro stations. On the bus ride, we provide you with detailed maps of a variety of well-scouted trails and routes to accommodate most ability levels. On our return home, we often include a pub stop to relax and share the day’s adventures.

Trips are non-guided. We assume all members to be self-reliant and properly equipped, and ask them to form small groups when doing an activity. The trip leaders help new members to join a group at the appropriate level.

Our Weekend Getaways

We offer several exciting two to four-day weekend getaways to outstanding hiking, cycling, and cross-country ski and snowshoe destinations. On these weekends, we stay in comfortable condos or hotels.

Our Social Events

There are lots of opportunities to have a great time with fellow club members. Organized dances, dinners, brunches and picnics are part of the club’s fun social calendar.

We celebrate the beginning of our winter season with our very popular annual Holiday Party in early December. Come along and join in the festivities, or come and meet members for a St. Paddy’s Day pub night. Check the Social Calendar for details of upcoming events.
