City walks is a pilot project that we hope will soon turn into a regular a regular activity offered by Randonnée Aventure. This activity will be offered when there are no other activities offered, most often during RA’s off season (spring and fall).
In the spring and fall the activity consists of relatively short walks (2 to 4 kilometers or so) in a combination of Montreal neighborhoods and city parks. The walks will take place on Saturday mornings, between 10AM and noon. A stop for coffee or snacks will usually be planned during or after the walk.
In January and February, on Saturdays when a Winter sports bus trip is not scheduled, we will visit local parks which offer skiing, snowshoe and walking trails. These outings will take place on Saturday mornings, between 10AM and noon. The destination will be decided the week of the trip depending on the conditions of the trails. Possible destinations include Angrignon park , Mount Royal Park, Parc Jean Drapeau, Parc Maisonneuve / the Botanical Gardens, Parc Frederic Back, and Park Lafontaine.
The schedule for outings is posted on the Randonnée Aventure City Walks Calendar.
Through the link on the calendar listing, you can access the City Walks wiki and register for each outing. The signup sheet will be open from the Tuesday before a Saturday outing: sign up by Friday at 7 pm.
We are always looking for feedback and suggestions from Randonnée members. You can email the Social Director at info@randonnee.ca with your ideas. |
