C16-Vankleek Hill, ON

August 30

Vankleek Hill, ON

Saturday 30 August 2025

Routes newly redesigned to avoid traffic and rough roads. Rides start in Vankleek Hill, which is proud of its well-preserved Victorian architecture: it is the “Gingerbread Capital of Ontario.” All cyclists start on the same route but there is a choice of different lengths. Rides are on quiet roads through farmland and a few small towns and all have a stretch along the Ottawa River with lovely views. All rides also pass by Voyageur Park and a beach stop would be possible on the shortest ride. At the end of the ride there is a picnic area beside the parking lot to wind down with friends: bring your own snacks and drinks. Trip lengths (and meters of climb): 47 km (187 m); 60 km (239 m); 79 km (276); 103 km (326 m).

For more information, please consult How Our Rides Work.

Visit our Wiki (Cycling) to register for this week’s ride, download maps, and get weather-related updates. The signup sheet will be open from the Tuesday before a Saturday ride: sign up by Friday at 7 pm.
