This is a very charming and enjoyable walk, with lots of history too. This walk brings you to what was known as the fifth most industrial centre of Canada. Maisonneuve was a city of itself between 1883 and 1918, the year when it then became part of Montreal. At this time, there was a soap factory, textile factory, shoe factory and more. As for Viauville, it is famous for the Whippet cookies originally made by the Viau cookie factory that was founded by Charles-Théodore Viau, therefore the name of Viauville borough.
