Châteauguay, QC Saturday 10 May 2025 Beautiful rides in mostly flat, rural areas only a short drive from Montreal. Riders can do a longer early-season route without worrying about hills. The shortest route is 50 km (with 100 meters of climb) and starts along a bike path, then follows the Chateauguay River, and returns along Lac St Louis. The 70 km route (98 m climb) goes in the opposite direction, following Lac St Louis and then the Beauharnois Canal before circling back through farming areas and along the Chateauguay River. Most routes are in Glengarry County, which was settled by Scottish loyalists from New York and emigrants from Scotland and still celebrates Scottish culture. Beloeil, QC Saturday 24 May 2025 A nice choice of routes along the Richelieu River and around Mont St Hilaire. The 53 km route (137 m climb) includes particularly lovely stretches through Otterburn Park and around the Bassin de Chambly. The 82 km route (269 m climb) includes about 12 km along the Yamaska River that is also much appreciated.
