Châteauguay, QC Saturday 9 May 2026 Beautiful rides in mostly flat, rural areas only a short drive from Montreal. Riders can do a longer early-season route without worrying about hills. The shortest route is 50 km (with 100 meters of climb) and starts along a bike path, then follows the Chateauguay River, and returns along Lac St Louis. Most routes are in Glengarry County, which was settled by Scottish loyalists from New York and emigrants from Scotland and still celebrates Scottish culture. The lunch stop is in Franklin, the best place for drinking spring water in Quebec. The 70 km ride is a bit more challenging after lunch but the descents are carefree. Sainte-Martine, QC Saturday 27 June 2026 Easy flat rides in the countryside with good views, only 35 km from Montreal. The 47 km ride is largely on bike paths with a lunch stop at a marina. The 76 km ride provides a nice view of the St Laurence River and the Champlain bridge as well as many giant wind turbines.
