This is a beautiful area for cycling, with a variety of routes. Ride in the beautiful Lévis area and follow part of Quebec’s “Route Verte” which runs along the St. Lawrence River. Verchères, QC Saturday 30 May 2026 Cycle in a lovely area on the South Shore, with historic points of interest, quaint old villages, and no hills. Some rides pass through the village of Calixa Lavallee, where observers will find an extraordinary number of 18th century stone houses. Mostly flat roads and easy routes. Lancaster, ON Saturday 6 June 2026 Nice, fairly flat routes on good roads through rural Ontario farmland. Most routes are in Glengarry County, which was settled by Scottish loyalists from New York and emigrants from Scotland and still celebrates Scottish culture. Saint-Chrysostome, QC Saturday 13 June 2026 Rolling hills through country lanes in wooded areas. We pass in front of the Rockburn pub. The lunch stop is in Franklin, the best place for drinking spring water in Quebec. The 70 km ride is a bit more challenging after lunch but the descents are carefree. Cyclists may also enjoy the quiet bike path by the wood in Ste-Clothilde.The 77 km ride is more demanding, particularly the Stevensen hill. Note the need for caution in descent down Covey Hill. Sorel, QC Saturday 20 June 2026 Lovely farmland and good roads. All routes include a riverside stretch either along the Richelieu or the Yamaska Rivers. Choice of relatively easy routes: 45 km (with 84 m of climb); 66 km (151 m); 71 km (165 m); 94 km (243 m). Sainte-Martine, QC Saturday 27 June 2026 Easy flat rides in the countryside with good views, only 35 km from Montreal. The 47 km ride is largely on bike paths with a lunch stop at a marina. The 76 km ride provides a nice view of the St Laurence River and the Champlain bridge as well as many giant wind turbines. Berthierville, QC Saturday 11 July 2026 The historic village of Berthierville offers a nice waterfront and 4 pleasant cycling routes through rich farming country. There is a lovely new route that goes to the Iles de Berthierville and then takes a ferry downriver before looping back through the countryside (67 km, 245 m climb).
