Canadian Ski Marathon

The Canadian Ski Marathon is neither a marathon nor a race. It is an amazing 2 day cross-country ski event that is open to all levels of skiers. It started in 1967 to celebrate Canada’s 100th birthday and has since grown to become North America’s best cross country ski adventure. Participants can do as little as one section or do all 10 sections over the 2 days to complete all 160 km (100 miles).

Following the challenges of the pandemic years and, in a effort to make the CSM “A Place for Everyone”, the traditional route running from Lachute through Montebello to Buckingham was modified to make it accessible to more skiers, improve event operations, and take positive steps towards the CSM‘s “Going Green” initiative.

The 2024 event will be held on Feb 10 & 11 in the greater Montebello region. With support from Kenauk Nature, it will offer two days of wonderful skiing totaling 160 km as is the CSM tradition. Each day will end in the heart of Montebello, and the start line on Saturday will be the Heritage Golf Club in Montebello.

Registration opens in late November and you won’t regret signing up to participate in this wonderful event.
